DC has been fast and furious with its TV announcements lately and one of the biggest surprises was that a
Titans series is in the works. Not much in the way of details has been released, but it looks to be following the Marv Wolfman / George Perez era team as Nightwing, Starfire and Raven and are confirmed members of the team. It seems like an ambitious project, but I can't pass judgment until I learn more about it. Hopefully a TV budget will still allow for plenty of heroics.
All I ask is that it's live action rather than the current version of TEEN TITANS GO with dummed-down animation.
ReplyDeleteI think there's a sense of irony that The New Teen Titans (NTT) will be showing up on TNT...
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it's going to be Nightwing - maybe for licensing reasons to keep "Robin" on Teen Titans GO!-? I would like to see the original core team: Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, Wally West, Beast Boy/Changeling, Cyborg, Raven, Starfire. Hopefully they can get Roy Harper in there, too.
The problem that keeps coming up not just in live action, but even in the comics is that DC has less of a grand shared universe than Marvel. Marvel heroes interact all the time...So if Speedy is on Arrow, don't expect to see him on Teen Titans on TNT - unless there's some licensing deal. Same with Gotham, Arrow and The Flash. Which is a shame.
