Kurt Busiek's
Astro City comics provide a great blend of superheroic action and the ramifications that it has on the everyday people that are caught in its wake. With talent like Alex Ross on covers and Brent Anderson on interiors, these were comics that I always felt I got the full value of my money out of. I haven't sampled the newer tales since
Astro City's recent return, but I definitely plan to.
Hey Ross, I am the poster who suggested the jay and silent bob with cheech and chong awhile back and I had another comical idea for your blog. How about teaming Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy with Groo from Despicable Me (along with a few minions of course and perhaps Rocket too) in a story that could only be called "Deciduous Me"
ReplyDelete...with a cameo appearance by Groo the Wanderer?
ReplyDeleteGroo and Groot have appearances planned at least...
ReplyDeletehow about a smallville and buffy crossover? the one you did of xena and buffy was amazing.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing Alex Ross' art on your team-up covers!
ReplyDeleteOne question: why is this entry tagged Marvel Comics? They've never published Astro City comics.
Must have clicked it by mistake that's all.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love "Astro City". It's one of the bare handful of comics that still draw me back to the comics shop every other week. Hope to see more in the future... and Fawcett's Captain marvel.
ReplyDeleteBased on mentions in this thread of Groo the Wanderer... How about a future issue of SUPER-TEAM FAMILY devoted to a crossover between Conan the Barbarian and Groo the Wanderer? Or has that been done here already? I think it's about time those two should meet :-)
ReplyDeleteThat one has been done by the actual publishers!
ReplyDeleteOk, how about Groo the wanderer with Claw the Unconquered!
ReplyDeleteNow all we need is Mighty Man, and we can have a good old-fashioned "three-for-all!"
ReplyDeleteBased, of course, on initially mistaken identity.
You know, technically, Smallville is Superman's home town.
