After reading
Watchmen and
Saga of The Swamp Thing, I was hungry for more comics by Alan Moore, so I was very interested when
V For Vendetta was released. Moore and artist David Lloyd created an amazing graphic experience with that story, filled with mystery, corruption and heroics. It's a series that I have gone back and reread a few times, always getting something new out of it.
This is one of your best ever, Ross. Not only does it look like a unit piece, the overall composition is so perfect that, if it were a real comic, it might just be in the running for an award. (Is there an award for "Best Cover"?) This really nails what a good comic book cover in the modern day should be like.
ReplyDeleteI've been hoping to see a V for Vendetta mash-up here, and this one knocks it out of the park!
ReplyDeleteYour move, Multiversity ;)
Bob is right. This is worthy of being an actual crossover! I can just picture Ian Karkull resurrecting the Prime Minister from the original V FOR VENDETTA graphic novel.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys, at first I was worried this would be too simple, but I was happy with the way it came out.
ReplyDeleteOh God yes! I would buy this one. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteI always wondered how V vs. Judge Dredd would work out, but for awhile they were both being published by DC... as is Dr. Fate, of course. Was there really nobody at Marvel/Image/Dark Horse who represented order as well as Fate? Hmmn, nah, I can think of any either. (Lord Order and the Living Tribunal aren't really 'action' characters.)
ReplyDeleteSuch an awesome cover, pure quality!
ReplyDeleteHm, the Living Tribunal... It would be interesting to see a cover with that character and the Phantom Stranger. That would certainly make for an odd and interesting story, if one can be figured out.
ReplyDeleteThe Living Tribunal and Phantom Stranger? It could be called "Sorcerer Full Of Secrets"!
ReplyDeleteEasily one of the most BEAUTIFUL pieces you have ever done.
ReplyDelete@ Bob Greenwade: I'd opt for a meeting between the Phantom Stranger and Uatu the Watcher!
ReplyDeleteThat one is already on here!
ReplyDeleteThe how about Marvel's Stranger with Phantom Stranger?
ReplyDeleteFucking brilliant cover and concept. Just. Wow.
