Marvel Zombies are The Walking Dead

I continue to enjoy AMC's The Walking Dead, even though I tend to watch half of the episodes with my hands covering my eyes - I'm not a big fan of the gore.  Still, I love the tension that is built up over the course of the seasons and the core cast of characters give solid performances.  I've read of plans to spin off the show, and I don't know how wise of an idea that is.  They have good thing going now, and I wouldn't want to see it diluted.

  1. I still have to catch up on The Walking Dead on Netflix. Not sure if my 13- and 12-year-old boys are up to it yet.

I have not read Marvel Zombies - any good?

How about a follow-up - The Walking Dead on Blackest Night?

  2. WD is great but very violent - consider it rated R for your boys. MZ, the first few mini-series at least, was better than I expected, darkly funny.

  3. I think the idea for the spinoff is suppose to be in another part of the US. The idea in this one is that instead of a 5000-1 ratio of zombies to humans it's the opposite. The humans far outnumber the zombies.

  4. This is probably the scariest cover I've seen you do, Ross. Very well done.

I think the only thing that could be scarier would be the Inferior Five battling Galactus.

  5. Awesome! I would also love to see a Walking Dead Blackest Night Crossover!

  6. I'm not a fan of gore, but I had to read Marvel Zombies, as well as the other mini-series that followed it.
Not sure I could watch The Walking Dead though. (My friends would like to sit behind me during scary movies just to measure how high I would jump.)
That said, I also would like to see if you could put together a Marvel Zombies and Blackest Night cover.
    Thanks,

  7. Marvel Zombies and Blackest night are tough to mesh as they have wildly different art styles...

  9. I've always felt that the perfect crossover for Marvel Zombies would be Bizarro World. Both are imperfect versions of the respective universe's super powered costumed characters and the best stories involving them are ones that play up the comedic aspects of the characters.

  10. By now, everybody knows the spin-off is called FEAR THE WALKING DEAD. Basically, it's served as a prequel to the parent series. Showing the outbreak of the Zombocalypse and the gradual erosion of society as a result. Events that were more or less glossed over through the somewhat over-used "comatose protagonist" trope.
