Superhero marriages almost never end happily. If one spouse or the other isn't killed off, they are usually torn apart anyway to increase the dramatic tension. Heck sometimes the entire union is dissolved through a reboot or a deal with the devil! Even Reed and Sue Richards, with their long marriage, have had many a bump in the road. No wonder there's the stereotype of the single male comic reader... the stories have frightened us as to what happens after the wedding!
Niiice.
ReplyDeleteExcellent cover. but its also the saddest cover of the series ;o) Divorce is a depressing subject.
ReplyDeleteWell...she always did have a thing for blondes names Steve. Great cover, Kirby and Andru.
ReplyDeleteAnyone notice that thats the United Nations Secretariat building in the background ;o)

I do think that Cap is a better match for Diana than Supes.
ReplyDeleteIs this an all-Kirby cover?
Jack Kirby and Ross Andru.
ReplyDeleteJennifer... don't worry, this is not the final chapter in the WW/Cap romance.
ReplyDeleteOh great, now you have me dreaming of a WW/CA series. What do you think, Busiek & Perez?
ReplyDeleteThat last Anonymous poster has a not-bad idea. This could be made into an actual cooperative mini-series between DC and Marvel, taking place in one of the Marvel Earths where DC's characters also exist.
ReplyDeleteSomeone ought to pitch it. Really.
Really liking the whole Wonder Woman/ Captain America series. Should it start getting it's own tag?

(PS: this one is tagged "Wonder Man", not "Wonder Woman". )
Good work...!
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder how Steve Trevor fits into all of this.
You're right about superhero marriages never ending well. Now I'm thinking about the Dibneys...!
