I love these characters and always like it when they show up in various titles from time to time. Ragman I was originally drawn to because of the beautiful Joe Kubert arwork, and I loved his unique and gritty background. I thought that Cloak and Dagger were cool supporting members in the Spider-Man titles, and I have fond memories of the Rick Leonardi illustrated solo mini-series of theirs. Given the similar properties of the cloaks involved, I thought this could make for a fun pairing.
As a DC fanatic, my first Marvel purchase in the early 1980s was an early appearance of Cloak & Dagger (and The Punisher) in The Spectacular Spiderman. I was drawn by the storyline and the creation of new interacial superhero couple (a rarity back then, still is). In the 1980s, Marvel seemed to be full of surprises.
ReplyDeleteAm I mistaken, but wasn't Dagger a revamped Dazzler?
ReplyDeleteI never heard of a connection between the two.
ReplyDeletecloak and dagger have now switched powers ragman hasnt been seen in new 52 yet that i know of
ReplyDeleteDave sez,
ReplyDeleteThe most recent appearance of Ragman was in a holiday issue of Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
I think I caught a glimpse of Cloak and Dagger in the early issues of Runaways
why did Cloak & Dagger have to be mutants? its like Marvel was retroactively turning everyone and everything into mutants by the mid-90s! good grief.
