Catwoman and Tigra

Gotta say, I see Tigra winning this battle... but then again, Catwoman is not above fighting dirty...

I am very interested to see what Christopher Nolan and Anne Hathaway have in store for audiences with the latest on-screen incarnation of Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.  It's a role I think we have yet to see realized perfectly yet.  Michelle Pfeiffer looked great, but her character's origin and motivations had little to do with the Selina Kyle of the comics... and that was a downright reverential portrayal when compared to the truly head scratching Halle Barre Catwoman film.  Hathaway has the looks and acting chops to do the role justice, I hope it is written as well as the previous villains have been.  The glimpses of costume we have seen have been fairly simple but cool and in line with the world Nolan has created.  Hathaway has claimed that we haven't seen the full Catwoman look yet, so who knows what else to expect.

Would they be up against Tigress (with Sportsmaster), Cheetah or Cat Man? Any one would kinda be cool!

  4. You'll see both of those teams, although not necessarily together just yet. Did the Kuberts ever work on The Invaders?

  5. Dave sez,

I didn't follow the entire run of The Invaders, but wasn't it mostly all Irv Novick?

I know Joe Staton did a lot of the revived All-Star Comics in the '70's with the JSA and Kubert was on All-Star Squadron covers...

  6. I seem to remember The Invaders being Frank Robbins and Frank Springer. One of them had accumulated a decades-spanning file of reference art for military vehicles-- boats, planes, jeeps, tanks, from countries and most wars. "Clip art" from when it was literally clipped from magazines and newspapers.

[I just checked GCD. Vince Colletta inked Robbins for the first year. Then it went monthly and Robbins and Springer did it for two years. The last year had no regular team, but it was mostly Alan Kupperberg on pencils.]

  7. To be fair, the Invaders work better with the JSA, or Freedom Fighters or 7 Soilders of Victory. The All Star Squadron was the sum total of all DC WWII teams so they'd be incredible in a cover with the All Winner's Squad, the sum total of all Marvel WWII heroes. Probably too many though, huh?

I like this cover. I hope we'll get to see Catwoman fce off against her true Marvel opposite, Black Cat!
