Batman and Dazzler
Dazzler is a character that has had a hard time finding a niche. As is often the case in comics she was created to capitalize on a fad just as it was dying out. With disco and roller skates no longer a draw, she relied guest stars to prop up her series. After its cancellation, she was given a makeover and membership in the X-Men, but that didn't seem to raise her profile very much. She does have interesting powers and a unique back story, so I think there is still potential to be mined. Perhaps the best angle would be to go back to the original look in kind of a retro chic vibe. I'm a firm believer that every minor character is just one clever writer away from the big leagues. Hey, I live in hope.
Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteAwesome
ReplyDeleteLove it! You should try Crystar or US 1 next!
ReplyDeleteI still am waiting for Green Hornet. I did love to see this. Where did you find art for Dazzler that fit in with Batman from the early 60's? Also, do you have any idea why you post on one day but it doesn't show till the next day for me. You did this on Tuesday but I didn't see it till Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI usually post very late in the day, It's probably just a time zone thing. Keep in mind that characters with a "The" in front of their name won't show up until the "T"s. Dazzler art was found through the magic of Google.
ReplyDeleteThe goofy look on Batman's face is perfectly awestruck. Love it!
ReplyDeleteRima the Jungle Girl or Skull the Slayer are two favourites of mine from my youth. Give it a shot!?!
Ok I get you. I never reffer to the characters with The in the name. To me they just Batman, Green Hornet, Hawk and Dove, etc.
ReplyDeleteI like this mash up! Who originally was on the cover that the Earth 2 Batman was googling over?
ReplyDeleteJust some one-off diva lady.
ReplyDeleteShe had a 40 - 50 issue run in the 80's to early 90's maybe more? It was however a direct market series.
