Green Lantern Vs. Galactus
Continued from yesterday's cover, we see that it all comes down to comicdom's greatest southpaw. Now that Earth-2 is a major plot point, maybe we can get an Alan Scott appearance on The Flash. It's not like he's being used anywhere else these days, so I can't imagine there would be any conflicts.
If you are wondering where Hal Jordan was during this two-part tale, that story was told back in STF #989...

Green Lantern Corps Vs. Galactus
I was glad to see that Green Lantern Corps is among DC's future movies. Not only does that mean that Hal Jordan will get another chance on the big screen, we will also see the live action debut of John Stewart. I wonder which other GL's will fill out the roster though. I'd pick Katma Tui for her relationship with Stewart as well as Tomar Re and Chaselon just because they are so darn cool. I look forward to see the new character designs, as they all seemed a bit off the first time around.
This is only Part One of this cosmic tale - make sure you stop by tomorrow for the thrilling conclusion!

Hawkman and Birdman
It's going to be cool to see Hawkman and Hawkgirl in regular action once DC's Legends of Tomorrow gets started. I like that they are exploring the reincarnation aspects of the characters, as that presents a lot of story possibilities. The costumes look pretty good as well, although I agree with many that Hawkman's helmet needs tweaking. By mirroring Hawkgirl's helmet he looks more like Wolverine than the winged warrior.

Kiss and Dial "H" For Hero
Dial "H" For Hero was a crazy concept but I remember getting quite a kick out of it. As a kid that loved to create my own superheroes, it was cool to see what others my age had come up with - even cooler to see them in action by professional artists and writers. Most of the characters were really off the wall, but every once in a while there would be one that I thought was cool enough to be a mainstream star.

Legion of Super-Heroes and Guardians of the Galaxy in: "The Galactic Games!"
Production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is ramping up, and bits of information are surfacing. First was the addition of Mantis to the cast, and now there is word that Kurt Russell is being considered for the role of Star-Lord's as-yet unnamed father. What I am really curious about though, is what songs James Gunn will select for inclusion in the sequel. The music from the first film was one of my favorite parts and I hope he can come up with an equally impressive collection for the new film.
The Legion also crossed paths with a couple of Guardians back in STF #686...

Silver Surfer and Captain Comet
George Perez is rightly hailed as one of comics' greatest artists, and for good reason. His ability to make his characters unique in body and facial type and clearly depict action featuring a large cast is amazing. Even beyond that, his attention to detail, particularly in his landscapes and backgrounds in quite impressive. With so many fancy computer programs and coloring techniques available to comics, there is more opportunity for an artist to skimp on backgrounds these days, making me appreciate the effort that Perez has put in over the years all the more.

Justice League Of America and The Fantastic Four in "Mutually Assured Destruction!"
The Fantastic Four reboot hits home video this week and I think I will watch it this weekend while waiting for Star Wars crowds to thin at the theaters. I'm going in with pretty low expectations given the footage and reviews I have seen, so I hope that there with be a few action beats or character moments to pleasantly surprise me along the way at least.
These two teams shared an adventure once before, a two-parter that began in a galaxy far, far away...

Cherry Poptart and Archie
I always wondered back in the day if Cherry Poptart creator Larry Welz got in trouble for making his title character look so similar to Archie Andrew's wholesome next door neighbor, Betty. Goodness knows that Cherry certainly got into some situations that Riverdale's sweetheart would never have been a part of, and I can't imagine that the executives at Archie Comics didn't notice.

Madman and The X-Men
The first trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse has been released, and it appears to be another action packed outing. It looks like the team will be going with the black leather outfit look again, which is a bit of a disappointment. I do like the mohawked Storm and Archangel, though. Oscar Isaacs as Apocalypse looked better than he did in the still images I have seen so far. I look forward to seeing what Bryan Singer has in store for his fourth X-film.

Batman and Doctor Strange in "Bruce Wayne: Ghost Detective!"
Continued from Yesterday's cover, it's time for Batman to call in an old friend for help. Doctor Strange is filming now, and looks ro be very cool based on the cast and set pictures that have surfaced. I'm a huge fan of Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock, and I can't wait to see him begin interacting with the rest of Marvel's cinematic stars.
Batman and Doctor Strange have met before, back in my B&B MS Paint Days - The first cover had them at odds, while the second was a classic tale which explains how every cover on this blog can exist...

Batman and Mephisto in "Desecration Day!"
Gotham has reached it's half way point through its second season, and I continue to enjoy it. It's a little hard to take seriously because many of the performances and plot twists are so over the top. I know that Gotham is supposed to be a rough town, but I don't know how they could get a single cop to work there when it seems like a dozen members of the police force get killed on a weekly basis. Still, there are enough decent performances to keep me coming back.
These two tangled once before, back in my B&B MS Paint days...
Make sure you come back tomorrow for the thrilling conclusion to this tale!

Wonder Woman and Conan
The Wonder Woman film has begun shooting and set photos reveal that it will indeed be at least a partial period piece. On bit of casting that interested me was Lucy Davis, who played Dawn, the female lead on the original version of The Office from the BBC. Her role has not been announced, but I'm thinking that she will make a great Etta Candy. We will see if that will come to pass.

The Question and Thor
The Question seems like a natural to show up on Arrow or perhaps the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow at some point. A street level hero that seeks out the truth behind every conspiracy can easily fit into or propel the types of story lines they use. The only problem would be finding an actor that doesn't mind being obscured by a featureless mask!

Flash Gordon and The Flash in "Flash of Two Galaxies!"
The first time I paired Flash Gordon with The Flash, I used Barry Allen. It was pointed to me out that Jay Garrick's look even more closely resembled that of Gordon, and I have to agree. Here then is a meeting between them. Let's hope that Jay Garrick regains his powers on The Flash so that we can see some more original speedster action on TV.

Deadman and The New Mutants
Work on a New Mutants film has been announced, and frankly, I am surprised that it has taken so long. Of course, audiences will see at least one more X-Men installment first, this time using a younger cast in the roles of the team of heroes, Given that they will most likely now be closer in age, I hope there will be enough to differentiate the New Mutants from their predecessors when they take their cinematic turn.

Concrete and Aquaman
I still hope that one day we will see Paul Chadwick's Concrete on the big screen. There is so much potential there, through the unique visuals offered by Concrete's perspective on the world and the story lines that follow a decidedly different path than the usual super powered comic book character. Get a great voice to go with a CGI Concrete and it could be very cool - heck, I'd even like an all animated version if Pixar took the property on.

Bugs Bunny and Captain Carrot & His Amazing Zoo Crew
The Bugs and Daffy Loony Tunes Hour was my favorite non-superhero cartoon growing up. I had no idea at the time that those shorts were already decades old by the time I watched them. Now, decades later still, when I watch those same cartoons on the Golden Collection series of DVD's, they still hold up just as well. It's really a testament to the Warner Brothers animators that they were able to create such timeless classics.

Starfire and Warlock
Crisis on Infinite Earths has its detractors, but I will always fondly remember the series, mostly due to George Perez illustrating the entire pantheon of DC Comics. For that reason, I was very excited when Marvel released The Infinity Gauntlet, a series of their own featuring most of their big stars and also drawn by George Perez. I was disappointed when he left the mini series after a couple of issues though. Ron Lim did a fine job picking up the reins, but I always wondered what the remainder of that series would have been like with Perez on art chores.

The Doppel Gang
Many great heroes have a "dark reflection" type of villain, so this is a team that I have been meaning to assemble for a while. I can understand why it is such a common trope in comics and fiction in general. What better way to portray how heroic your character is than by presenting a version with the same attributes used for nefarious rather than altruistic purposes?

Doc Savage Vs. Vandal Savage
When longtime Lost Issues visitor Isaac suggested this match up yesterday, I had to smack my head for never thinking of it myself. Obviously, many story possibilities present themselves when one considers the shared surname. This one was going to nag at me until I gave it a shot, so I decided to just go ahead and create a cover right away. Thanks for the idea, Isaac!
