The X-Files investigate The Spectre
In this age of Netflix and other streaming services, binge watching a TV series is commonplace. I think The X-Files was the first show that I binge watched, and I did it the hard way. I had missed the first few seasons, so to catch up, I would rent the earlier episodes from my video store and try to watch them in order. The show may have outstayed its welcome a bit, but those first few years were a lot of fun.

Batman and The Invisible Girl (Vs. Hugo Strange & Dr. Doom)
I've been hoping that Hugo Strange would bet a chance at being that main villain in a Batman movie. I have enjoyed B.D. Wong's performance in the role on Gotham, and that just makes me want to see the character make the leap to the big screen even more. Besides being a great psychological antagonist to the Dark Knight, his Monster Men experiments could be a way to bring Kirk Langstrom/Man-Bat into the mix as well.
Batman and Invisible Girl first met back in my MS Paint B&B days...

Conan and Warlord
I used to see Warlord as a hodgepodge of other characters. He seemed to have Conan's outfit, Green Arrow's beard, Thor's helmet, Jon Carter's weapons, Kazar's creatures from the Savage Land... but somehow it all worked. I wish I had seen him cross paths with other DC heroes a little more often.

Robin and Jubilee
I expected Jubilee to become a bigger character after how prominently she was featured on the animated X-Men series in the 90's. I kind of lost track of her in the comics after she became a vampire for some reason or another. In the movies she has been used for little more than background scenery. Maybe in the a future film or one of the spin-offs like New Mutants she will finally get her chance to shine.

Brother Voodoo and Deadman
I love that we live in a time where going to the movies and seeing characters like Brother Voodoo or Deadman on the big screen is a real possibility. Justice League Dark is being prepped and promises to bring Boston Brand to life (well, afterlife). Jericho Drumm's brother was featured in Doctor Strange, setting up a Brother Voodoo appearance in a sequel hopefully. It really does feel like the sky is the limit as far as which comic character will make the cinematic leap next.

Sgt. Rock and War Machine in "Upgrading Easy Company!"
The second season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow has completed, and still no sign of Sgt. Rock. I hope that in the third season they get around to doing a WWII adventure. DC has so many great characters in that era, and I'd love to see the likes of Rock, The Losers, Enemy Ace, Gravedigger, or the Haunted Tank make their live action debuts.
These two first crossed paths in STF #1613...

Aquaman and Mermaidman & Barnacleboy
I am being open minded about Aquaman in the upcoming Justice League movie. I was once pretty rigid about how I wanted the character to be represented, and did not like the "hook and beard" phase. But then the Justice League cartoon did a lot of cool stuff with that version. When I first saw the Aquaman that was on Batman: The Brave and the Bold, I was initially put off - but was soon won over. So, while Jason Mamoa doesn't seem like my Aquaman, I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
This cover was inspired by a suggestion from Mike Shirley, a Patron of this blog. Thanks a lot, Mike!

Kang Vs. The Seven Soldiers of Victory!
It''s bad enough that Marvel doesn't have right to make movies with the Fantastic Four, what compounds the issue is all of the other characters that are also off limits as part of the deal. I'd love to see Namor, or The Skruls or especially Kang to show up in an Avengers or Captain America flick, but unfortunately until Marvel gets all of its characters back, it's not going to happen.

Superman and Spider-Man (The Movie!)
Needless to say, the first official Superman/Spider-Man crossover had a huge impact on me, beginning a love for impossible team-ups that eventually led to this very blog. The only thing that could have made it cooler to me is if there had been a live-action film adaptation!
These two have had two previous STF adventures... once when they were undergoing an identity crisis... and once when they decided to have a car fight.

Robocop on The Planet of the Apes
I am looking forward to War for the Planet of the Apes, as I have really been enjoying the new Apes franchise so far. Matt Reeves did a nice job expanding the world of the film in the last outing and I expect him to do so again, given the all-out war theme. I like his visual style and action sequences, so I am very interested in what he is going to do with The Batman once that film finally gets underway.

Hawkman & Hawkgirl and Doctor Strange
It was interesting to see that one of the other dimensions that Dr. Strange briefly traveled through in his movie was the microverse first introduced in Ant-Man, I wonder if he will be of use since he can get there should Hank Pym go looking for his missing wife in the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp. That seems like reason enough for a Dr. Strange cameo, if you ask me!

Wonder Girl and Black Widow
There has been talk on and off about a solo Black Widow film, but the underperformance of Ghost in the Shell may have cast doubt on Scarlett Johansson's theatrical draw. Sill, strong performances by Wonder Woman and/or Captain Marvel at the box office could get interest rolling again. I think the best route would be a film headlined by Black Widow, but featuring Hawkeye and introducing some others as well. It might be a good way to bring the likes of Silver Sable, Dominic Fortune, The Shroud or Paladin to live action and make a corker of an espionage tale.

Sunfire Vs. Aquaman
I am very interested to see how the underwater scenes will appear in Justice League. I have seen a glimpse of the creation of some of the effects where Zack Snyder films his actors on wire rigs, with the water and flowing hair to be added in digitally later. From the quick completed shots that I saw, it looks to be an effective process.

The Creeper Vs. Wolverine
Usually, this is where I would include my review of Logan, but I haven't seen it yet. I thought the first solo Wolverine film was a mess and the second, while a big step up in quality, was just okay. This third outing had some nice reviews and good buzz, but frankly all of the footage I saw was of old Wolverine and Professor X hanging out in the desert with a little kid - kind of small scale action that would be more suitable for a rental. So I will ask my knowledgeable visitors - as spoiler free as you can keep it, did I make the right decision? Or should I head out to the theater to see Logan on the big screen?

Space Ghost and The Super-Friends
Here's another team up that I would have loved to have seen animated in my childhood. I loved both of these cartoons when I was growing up, for different reasons. The Super-Friends featured the characters that I loved from the comic books, and Space Ghost had more action. Maybe a crossover is something that DC can finally do today, at least in comic form.
Space Ghost met the Justice League of America back in STF #1249...

Booster Gold and Spider-Man 2099
Watching the episodes of Justice League Unlimited and Batman: The Brave and the Bold that feature Booster Gold really remind me how fun the character is. With all the recent DC movie announcements being Batman-related, I hope they haven't forgotten about a Booster Gold (or is that Booster/Blue Beetle?) movie, as he has a ton of potential to deliver a fun superhero romp.

Black Orchid and Spider-Woman
I've enjoyed tales featuring these heroines with mysterious pasts, so I might be fun to see them share an adventure together. Each has had very different takes throughout the years, depending on the writers involved, and it is always interesting to see what their latest incarnations are up to.

The Fantastic Four Vs. Darkseid
Growing up, The Fantastic Four was the cornerstone of the Marvel Universe to me. It's sad to see that their comic is no longer being published. I am hoping that a Spider-Man type of deal can be made where Marvel Studios will ba able to have a hand in guiding any future cinematic attempts. Seeing them on the big screen alongside the rest of the Marvel heroes would be just the shot in publicity the team needs to make a go for it in comic form again.

Green Hornet and Green Lantern
The Justice League trailer looked fun, but as I mentioned before, didn't really feel like the League to me without Green Lantern, Superman or The Martian Manhunter. It's no secret that Superman will be appearing in the film eventually though - and Henry Cavill has been tweeting hints about Green Lantern at least making a cameo as well. But which Green Lantern? Some have speculated Hal Jordan (played by Armie Hammer?), but the most popular theory seems to be Abin Sur, beginning the cinematic GL saga anew. I'm rooting for Chaselon, but nobody consults me about these things.

The Fox and The Crow
I had been hearing about a theatrical return of The Crow for a while, but the rumors seem to have stopped so I don't know if it is still in the planning stages. I enjoyed the first film, which was ahead of it's time in a lot of ways, and hope that a new project gets underway soon.
