Frankly, he was a more convincing hero than Matt Salinger's Cap. Played with the sort of determination and conviction (And sense of duty) that would make the MCU Cap proud, (Especially taking on one of Red Skull's goons one on one even though he was physically overmatched.Marc Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16675311280790063373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-32839457079174494202021-09-24T09:12:24.199-04:002021-09-24T09:12:24.199-04:00Has the Reb Brown Cap ever teamed up with Batman &...Has the Reb Brown Cap ever teamed up with Batman '66? I had the same thought as jack-el, but Ross' explanation is reasonable, and Kurt would've made a decent Cap at the time.

That said, Reb Brown actually did a decent Cap, and I'd still love to see the comic adaptation of the Captain America/Wonder Woman TV-movie starring him and Cathy Lee Crosby.

@Ross: The part I'm wondering about is: Ronny Cox as the Grandmaster??? That's even more unlikely than Jeff Goldblum (who gave a fine performance in the context, but wasn't convincing as En Dwi Gast). For the period, I think I'd prefer Leonard Nimoy.Bob Greenwadehttp://lulu.com/spotlight/bobgreenwadenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-35603396634638944032021-09-22T08:00:49.711-04:002021-09-22T08:00:49.711-04:00@D. Which is, to say, before it was scientifically determined that some dinosaurs were a lot smarter than the brain capacity of their fossilized skulls initially indicated.

@Ross: I remember the DC graphic novelization of BATMAN RETURNS. And I thought the artwork pretty realistic! The Penguins still looked like Danny DeVito, the Dark Knight still resembled Michael Keaton, and the ill-fated Ice Princess still did justice to the fetching Christine Conaway (future co-star of "Time Cop: The Series").Carycomichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16657443977195909129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-62032244072543504172021-09-22T07:44:37.099-04:002021-09-22T07:44:37.099-04:00Ross remember Chris Reeve was not a name when he w...Ross remember Chris Reeve was not a name when he was cast, and most times I think casting "names" is a mistake regarding superhero movies, everyone has to have the opportunity to start somewhere. And to my memory all your Superman photo covers feature either Reeve or Reeves. How about a multiversal crossover with them, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, and one 9r both of the Salkind Superboy TV show, and Joshua Orphin introducing Krypto. It would be an ambitious undertaking but reminiscent of some of those great pre-Crisis comics covers. A Superman - Captain America partnership could be interesting. Cap isn't much of a detective, but he has other skills of value, like as a tactician.
Since DC remade Kal-el in Chris' image years ago, the series may not be much of a stretch. In the 1960s, a story established that most of Earth made Superman an honorary citizen in the different countries because of how much he helped everywhere. A true International Rescuer.
Since Cap has a rock solid healthy ego, he wouldn't ever think of himself as being anything else than a true partner to this non-Earther. Seeing them hang out after a case could be more interesting, as Clark would be happy to be in the background until needed.
Hopefully, the new series does better than some of the stories back then. One I hated had Superman growing giant size but his brain was kept normal size to hinder him.
