Same goes with Seth Rogan's Green Hornet. Now how do you feel about the flipside- a gritty dark take on Plastic Man. Maybe too many of them loved Batman as a kid (and Adam West did not play it as a comedy even if it was being done so around him), Glennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00206511574947959667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-88765289486733120452017-12-24T17:14:54.601-05:002017-12-24T17:14:54.601-05:00Thank you Jack-El!

I'm sick and tired of old TV shows and other media being turned into comedic films. They may not have had the highest production values and even the writing may have been lacking in some cases but they were not comedies.

I guess it started with the Ackroyd/Hanks Dragnet movie and Hollywood has been stuck in that mode ever since. Why I don't know seeing as how most of these so called comedies don't even do good box office.

Alright I guess I'll step of my soap box but that's one of my hot buttons. I just don't get why they do it. The recent Comic book movies have shown that you can treat the source material with respect and do great box office.

I would love to see a pulp/dieselpunk cinematic universe with the Shadow, Doc Savage, Green Hornet, the Spider, et al. But NOT as stupid comedies.

Oh guess I wasn't all the way off that soapbox. ;-)

Merry Yuletide!

- AlenaAlenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05422731514825777334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-62959494590153507242017-12-24T10:24:20.774-05:002017-12-24T10:24:20.774-05:00Have you read last year's crossover limited se...Have you read last year's crossover limited series that teamed-up the Bionic Woman with Wonder Woman'77 ?
