OTOH, Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles is. Or at least, it probably holds no attraction for today's kids, steeped as it is in late Fifties-early Sixties lore. For example, Snagglepuss finds himself embroiled in the Marilyn Monroe-Joe Di Maggio-Arthur Miller triangle (although only first names are used). The latest issue, #5, has Nikitia Krushchev saying, "Americans are ruled by casino. Sooner or later they'll elect a real amateur as President, and THEN we'll press our advantage!"

Gee, I wonder who he could mean...

No explanation is given for realistic funny animals -- and Squiddly Diddly, in particular, is a jolt -- but fans seem to be accepting them as an addition to, rather than a supplanting of, the originals. Again, in the last two issues of ESL [SPOILER ALERT] Huckleberry Hound and Quick Draw McGraw become gay lovers, and then one of them kills himself. This has prompted no fan reaction, which only seems strange if you remember what happened with the Rawhide Kid.Bradley Walkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01665065813236366479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-48315758716431658212018-05-06T12:01:00.063-04:002018-05-06T12:01:00.063-04:00You are correct, sir...

I missed the Chief though.

Technically, Warner Brothers and Hanna-Barbera are two separate animation divisions, and I'm not expecting to ever see Jonny Quest and Tasmanian Devil together. But Warner bought the Hanna-Barbera properties a while back... that's part of how we got "Future Quest." WB owns Daffy Duck, Green Lantern, and Space Ghost all - even though we'll never see them in one property together, I think.ELShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08227481611148130555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-35050086669851108722018-05-06T11:44:18.619-04:002018-05-06T11:44:18.619-04:00Jackel, you are thinking of the Golden Age Robotma...Jackel, you are thinking of the Golden Age Robotman - he had the dog, not Cliff Steele.Rosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02456766784122686858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-62455187704502290392018-05-06T11:41:05.605-04:002018-05-06T11:41:05.605-04:00Have to nitpick here Jay but Taz, Elmer, and the L...Have to nitpick here Jay but Taz, Elmer, and the Looney Tunes aren't HB. The lead story had fairly realistic versions of the HB characters in the DCU (although probably not "in canon"). Then there was a "animated" backup story with a Looney Tune version of the hero on the HB character's turf.Jay Johnsonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-62105228932615753992018-05-06T08:42:23.874-04:002018-05-06T08:42:23.874-04:00Ha-ha! I really enjoy the wackiness of the Looney Tunes and the cartoons. That's what this cover looks like. I'd love to see that in a team-up.

I really enjoyed the Titans-Doom Patrol follow up in the early issues of New Teen Titans. Nice to see the Doom Patrol get their justice.
