The first was appropriately dark; the second was campy fun, like the '66 Batman series. (The live-action series was cool, but the cartoon gave me a headache.)

That aside, I'd love to see Swamp Thing teaming up with Groot. Maybe they could even form the core of a team with other plant-form characters such as Bushroot and Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan.Bob Greenwadehttp://lulu.com/spotlight/bobgreenwadenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-55153478578976382172017-04-23T07:10:28.567-04:002017-04-23T07:10:28.567-04:00Kevin Doolittle said...

So did my older brother who was not a comics reader. I never saw the second one (Siskel and Ebert gave it two thumbs down.) or the TV series. Back then as a comic book fan I was pretty thrilled with ANY comic book properties that made it to the big screen. If you told me back then that many of the biggest movies would be based on comic book characters I would have been very skeptical. The suit was awful. The second movie was awful but the suit was awesome. The TV series was better than both movies and would stand alongside CW's super heroes shows with no problem. The Howling Commandos in the cartoon was a bad joke and was translated into a slightly better comic but not enough to last more than 6 issues. Liked the Legion of Monsters but why use them rather than the original team of Ghost Rider, Mobius the Living Vampire, Man-Thing and Werewolf by Night.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14526986857809889611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6730409500376659257.post-57233379907084171902017-04-22T12:24:51.829-04:002017-04-22T12:24:51.829-04:00Marvel should do a movie based on the version of t...Marvel should do a movie based on the version of the Howling Commandos that appeared in their recent cartoons. It's basically Legion of Monsters with Blade as the team leader. The movie could have Blade, Man-Thing, Living Mummy, Werewolf By Night, Frankenstein's Monster, and Satana with Nick Fury and Damion Hellstrom as support staff. It could be a lot of fun.
