Nightwing and Power Man
Time for some Gil Kane goodness. He was always able to select the perfect moment in a story and present it dynamically with his amazing artwork. He was easily my favorite Marvel Comics cover artist.
Circus of Crime is a great villain team. The perfect combination of silly and serious to make for a compelling story. Ringmaster and his crew have been something of a nemesis to Nightwing. Maybe this is a "keep your enemies closer" maneuver like The Shroud and Night Shift
@Anon852: It's her third uncredited cameo, actually. See STF #3423 (2021) and STF #4849 (July of last year).
@Ross: So, the first three times Nightwing contended against the Ringmaster @ STF, he was actually been under Tiboldt's influence. But, now he's usurped him?! That's almost as bad as all those times Eclipso infected MKEM with his mojo!
Ringmaster has Dick under his control...the guys on the high wire are practicing a robbery step, the Kid Colt want to be is keeping that rawness going, and Luke is trying to earn his job fees. Great cover.
Maybe Ross could do a sequel with just him and that identically named feminist psycho from Metropolis who's only had one canonical appearance here, so far (which puts her one up on Princess Python). Just picture the Ringmaster going: "Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls. Children of all ages. The celebrity death match you've all been waiting for: LIVEWIRE VS. LIVEWIRE!"

ReplyDeleteThat makes two unofficial appearances by Princess Python here in the Rossverse. I'm beginning to think that pet snake of hers lays Easter eggs!
ReplyDeleteI suppose at some point we should get Princess Python meets Monty Python.

Anyone else wondering what those two guys are doing on the trapeze?
ReplyDelete🤔
I think it's called the "Non Chiedere, Non Dire" Maneuver.
Deletetaking Dick back to his circus roots.
ReplyDeleteIs there an explanation for why Kid Colt is lassoing Luke Cage?
ReplyDeleteOrdinaryguy2
Actually, his name is Livewire. He uses electrified lariats.

DeleteI'd buy that for 60 cents. :-)
