I have to imagine that Victor Von Doom holds a grudge against Doc Savage, ever since he stormed his castle with The Bondsmen back in STF #3790. How will Savage fare against the malevolent monarch now that he's all on his own?

DeleteAs for Doc Savage being all on his own? Hardly! Nobody as big on team loyalty as Batman would allow a fellow Bondsman to languish in a Latverian dungeon. Not without having concocted several break-out scenarios already! My one hope is that any eventual sequel sees one such scenario being enacted by Batman and two new Bondsmen: the Spirit and the Rocketeer..

DeleteDoom does not stand a chance against Doc Savage. This is fitting as Will Murray, the man who continued Doc Savage's adventures in books, has passed on 8/24/26.

ReplyDeleteDid You Know?_ Among the crime-fighting 'mystery men' whose activities overlapped in time with those of Doc Savage during the 1930s (and in this case were published by the same company as his, Street & Smith) was a vigilante known as 'The Whisperer'... who was secretly Police Commissioner James Gordan!

DeleteSadly, even Moonstone and Dynamite Entertainment never adapted him for their comics. And they've done some pretty good adaptations, in general, of those pulp-fiction characters!
