Scooby-Doo in the House of Mystery
Thanks to Jared Mello for suggesting this team up! If there's any group that should pay a visit to Cain's creepy mansion, it has to be the passengers of the Mystery Machine.
What always surprises me is that, neither on this blog nor real life, has the Scooby gang ever met the Ninja Turtles! IRL, it would be like literally printing their own money, with the success that the two franchise have shown over the decades! And they've even both had real life crossovers with Batman, so there's already a connecting thread! What gives!?
I have always pictured the Scooby Doo gang paired up with Hawaii Five-0, the older version in which Jack Lord played Steve McGarrett. At the end, the chase takes place. Somehow Scooby trips on something or slips, colliding into Kono and causing Kono to collide with the villain. Scooby gets the accolades for stopping the villain. The mask is removed, and as usual, the whole group is surprised over the identity of the villain. The villain has his typical line, “ I would have gotten away with it had it not been for these meddling kids!” At that moment, McGarrett says, Book ‘im, Danno.” And a scene starts to fade with Scooby saying, “ Scooby, Dooby Doo.”
Not a bad scenario! I can just imagine the two teams combining forces to investigate seemingly hostile manifestations of the mythological Night Marchers. Only for the true culprit to be Wo Fat (original---and undeniably unsurpassable--Khigh Dhiegh version)!
I'm mildly surprised the old SCOOBY-DOO MOVIES didn't already do that. The original HAWAII FIVE-O was still an active show when the SDM toons were being made, and H5O and SDM were both on CBS.
And let's not forget that now-classic episode of SUPERNATURAL where the Winchesters and Castiel wound up meeting Mystery, Inc. in the HB Cartooniverse!
Which reminds me...will the Fighting American be joining Capt. America, Uncle Sam, the Golden Age Shield and other star-spangled stalwarts on the July 4th cover? If so, just ignore the question. "Silence gives assent" and all that jazz.
DC could do this one for real, since DC characters and the HB characters all belong to the same conglomerate. Indeed, they've already made team-up comics.
"Jinkies! Why is Scrappy-Doo's picture here in the Necronomicon...?!?"

DeleteMaybe Scooby-Doo could meet the Bob Barker from Robot Chicken .
ReplyDeleteI'd rather see Scooby Doo meeting Yuyu Hakusho in...
ReplyDelete... "Rooby-Roo Rakuro!"
How about the gang meet either the justice league or the legion of superheroes?
ReplyDeleteDC itself has done both of those, in its 'Scooby-Doo! Team-Up!' series.

DeleteWow; thanks! I'll admit that I don't even remember suggesting this one; but; again; thanks for using my idea!
ReplyDelete(P.S. Would you mind linking to where I suggested this one?)
ReplyDeleteIt was a while ago, I forget - but I had it in my notes page of potential team up ideas where I jot down all the ones I think could work.
ReplyDeleteWould Shao Khan vs. Tryco "the Champion of the Universe" Slatterus work?
DeleteLeave that question to be answered by Ethen Beavers.

DeleteThe House of Mystery Machine?
ReplyDeleteIn a wacky race with the Creepy Coupe?
