Legion of Super-Heroes and Space Ghost

I'd like to see these two properties together.  I can imagine Jan and Jace being big fans of the LSH. I'm sure there are some sort of time travel shenanigans that could get them all together.

  1. Timber Wolf, Saturn Girl, and Brainiac 5... alone against Space Ghost's arch-nemeses, The Council of Doom! Space Ghost... trapped and held powerless by the magicks of Mordru!

    I like it. ;)

  4. "When mad half-man genius Tharok experiments upon their loyal monkey companion, can even Space Ghost and the twins triumph over the deadly, destructive brain-bolts of... BLIPIDUS?!?"

  6. Discovered both of these at just about the same time in the early autumn of 1966, when I was ten years old. Imo it was a wonderful time to be a syfy-loving kid, when Saturday mornings truly became special for us kids who loved the more serious stuff, having mentally outgrown the unfunny trash Hanna Barbera was also putting out at the time like Atom Ant and Secret Squirrel.

    1. Well, for elementary school kids of that time, even the crime-fighting FTA's were the opposite of trash. They were more like what today's elementary school kids would call delightful precursors of DC's Zoo Crew or Eastman and Laird's TMNT's! Depatie-Freleng's Super-President, on the other hand...?

Well, to paraphrase Mark Twain: "Let us humbly draw the curtain of charity across any more reminiscences of that particular one-season wonder."

Thanks for another great jaunt down Memory Lane, Ross!

  7. I'll say the blaster fodder they're battling are either mercenaries working for Rob-Corp. Or androids built by Metallis!

    1. @Anon1022: split the difference. Say they're Khundish mercenaries working for the Council of Doom.

  9. Space Ghost took place in the future and we never really saw them visit Earth. I just wonder how the Galactic Trio would fit in.

    1. Actually, Space Ghost visited Earth, twice, on the original animated series! Once, via time travel, to medieval Scandinavia at the height of the Viking era. And once (in what I presume was meant to be late 21st century North Africa) aiding the French Foreign Legion against a super-villainous brainwasher called the Sand Man!

    2. @Anon127: I remember that character! He was like Christopher Lee's Saruman the White...with a ray gun.

    3. didn't Space Ghost get help from Shazzan in getting home from his being sent to the past via the Council of Doom???

    4. Oh, yeah! That officially makes it THREE times Space Ghost visited Earth between 1966 and 1968.

  10. Steve Lightle was my all-time favorite Legion artist. Nice to see his work here.

  11. Now that the same conglomerate owns both the DC and Hanna-Barbera properties, this could actually happen. ^_^

  12. Shazzan takes place in some magic realm based on Arabian nights, not their own world. At least that's how it's appeared to me.
