This can serve as a direct sequel to when Deadman previously crossed paths with Man-Thing in STF #4613. The new Masters of the Universe movie looks pretty good to me, visually at least. The quick shots I have seen of Skeletor in the trailers looked cool - and I don't mind that they didn't keep his campy cartoon voice.

He could always try possessing Orko... or maybe even Stinkor! ;)
ReplyDeleteP.S.---your highlighted link seems to be sending me no further back than yesterday's robo-cover.
DeleteThe "Anonymous" posting a P.S. to the first comment, above, is not me, but a different one altogether.
DeleteTrue. I was Anon703. He was Anon628.
DeleteGiven that Alan Oppenheimer (who provided the "campy cartoon voice" for Skeletor in the 1980's Filmation series*) is a 96-year-old retiree from acting, it stands to reason they have to get someone else to do the voice-over for the CGI version of Old Bonehead.
ReplyDelete*He also did the voices for Cringer/Battlecat and Man-at-Arms Duncan.
As for Deadman's question? He should use the Nexus of All Realities and and bring Travis Morgan back from Skartaris for the climactic sword fight!*
Delete*Thereby also making this a prequel to STF #4937 (@ last October 19).
Thanks, fixed the link.
ReplyDeletegetting Swamp-Thing might give Boston a hand. Nice cover.
ReplyDelete“Bonehead”. I love it!
ReplyDeleteIn canon DeadMan couldn't possess Swamp Thing when they met either (an adventure involving Rip Hunter in a coupler of issues of Challengers of the Unknown iirc), so makes perfect sense that he can't possess Man Thing either.
ReplyDeleteWhat if he occupied Samuel "Plantman" Smithers? The organic human original, that is; not one of his phyto-based clones.
DeleteThis cover brings to mind an interesting question- if Deadman felt fear, could Man-Thing's touch burn a ghost? After all, Man-Thing's burned metaphysical being such as demons before...
ReplyDeleteThat's like asking if the Spectre would be blown to smithereens if he were solid enough to be touched by the Human Bomb. A case of "Never gonna happen."
DeleteAlaric: Maybe that's *why* Deadman can't take over "the big guy"? The cover never really says, though in an actual DC comic he couldn't possess Swamp thing either.
ReplyDeleteHas Deadman ever tried to possess either Solomon Grundy or a Bizarro?
ReplyDeleteProbably not.
