It was only a matter of time before this confrontation. The Aliens have already faced off with Luke Skywalker in STF #1363, Han Solo in STF #2965, and Lando Calrissian in STF #4165.
This cover required some background extension before I could add in a Xenomorph. Here's a look at the behind the scenes progress:

So, if I did the math right? There were just over sixteen hundred issues between the first two appearances. Exactly fifteen hundred issues between the second and third appearances. And 936 issues between the 3rd and 4th appearances. Does this mean we'll be seeing Yoda or Darth Vader vs. Aliens for STF #5500?
ReplyDeleteGood Lord, I hope so! Brilliantly re-worked, Ross. :-)
On this one, I almost feel sorry for the Xenomorph. Only Grogu would be more formidable.
ReplyDeleteGrogu??? Is that one of Kirby's Kreatures from Atlas/Marvel of the 1950's?
Delete@Anon157: naw! Bob's referring to the young tridactylite that Star Wars fans initially called "Baby Yoda." You must be confusing him with "Googam, son of Goom" (from Marvel's TALES OF SUSPENSE #17 @ Feb. 1961).
Delete@Cary: yeah, probably.
DeleteStill no Mangog issues.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll be Mr. Universe's next enemy.

DeleteSorry! That old cliche' made me flashback to when my Mom seemed to over-use it at our house (where "spring" cleaning was literally all year round).
