Martian Manhunter Vs. Green Goblin

There is no character that I want to see join the DCU more than Martian Manhunter.  He's the heart and soul of the Justice League and I think would be a fan favorite character if the right actor plays him.  Could he be introduced in Man of Tomorrow, which promises to be a somewhat space faring adventure? I haven't heard anything but there's always hope.

  1. There's nothing wrong with hope, Ross. It just might be too much to expect! For instance; the upcoming HBO series about Green Lantern seems to be doing to Hal Jordan what was done to Adam Strange on the Syfy Channel series "Krypton." Needlessly down-and-outing him.

As for today's cover? Interesting premise! Especially as it answers the long-standing (but surprisingly often-ignored) question of just how an aging astronomer was able to fund the invention of a prototypical teleportation device in the first place!

  2. ... and yet, you've never once utilized the Manhunter's Pantsless Pal, li'l orange-cheeked (in more ways than one) ZOOK!

    For shame, Ross. SHAME! ;)

    1. @my namesake: maybe he's been too busy standing guard over Mangog.

    2. Why not? If he's a 5th-dimensional, like Mxyzptlk, it would be child's play for Zook to hold M----g captive someplace outside 3-D space/time.

  3. I'm still somewhat annoyed that Willem Dafoe got so little recognition for his stellar performance -- both chilling and touching -- in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

  4. The Martian Manhunter movie I wish they would make would be the sort of relatively low-budget thing they never do anymore. You'd follow Detective John Jones and his partner through their day, while little things happen in the background that keen-eyed viewers would recognize as signs that super-powered beings are at work. Only at the end would Detective Jones' partner figure out who really was sitting next to him in the car, and most people still would have no idea anything out of the ordinary was going on.

    1. If I'd been a writer for the old "Lois and Clark" series, with Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher, I would have introduced the Martian Manhunter Wold Newton-style English translation: as a prisoner of the aliens from HGW's "The War of the Worlds." With the time-traveling Wells, himself, rescuing JJ from captivity and bringing him to Dr. Saul Erdel ('the Einstein of Immunology"), on "our" world, for treatment.

  5. With Smallville being the first tv live action exposure for "John Jones", this favorite Martian has gained a mid level following that still exists. But he still unfairly gets ignored by the JLA publishers. So much potential that still exists.

  6. Ross, great cover again

If you have not done it, this cover is inspiring for similar color costumed / designed characters, for example have

Hulk, and she hulk meet MM here, green lanterns, g arrow etc

The Beast meet the blue beatle
    Deadpool meet the Flash
The Shadow meet Cloak and The Shrouded
    Etc…..

    2. @Anon401: pssst! Ask him if he can pit Black Knight (Dane Whitman/Marvel) and Black Knight (Peyton Parks/Zenescope) against the Queen of Fables?

    3. Failing that, I'd also settle for Witchfire (Ananym/Marvel) vs Witchfire (Rebecca Carstairs/DC).
