Machine Man and The Demon
Kirby was as great at designing monstrous creatures as he was at designing futuristic mechanics. A story that combined both really gave him a chance to show off his talents.
Those talents of Kirby's you cite are precisely what made even outlandish series like Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth so interesting - at least while he still worked on them. You just never knew what was going to happen next with that series!
That's why the man was justifiably referred to, by Stan Lee, as "The King." When it came to larger-than-life art work, Mr. Kirby was the best there was at what he did.
