Superman and The Shadow

I remember some discussions of Margot Lane and Lois Lane possibly being related in the comments section years ago, and it always stuck with me. I finally found the right images to to turn the concept in to a cover, and here it is!

Coming Tomorrow: STF #5100!  A full issue clash between a DC team and Marvel team that have yet to meet on this blog...

Silver or Bronze Teen Titans and the Runaways...?

Creature Commandos and the Howling Commandos...?

Legion of Super-Heroes and the Legion of Monsters...?

Secret Six (original version) and S.H.I.E.L.D....?

    Okay, I'll stop now. ;)

  2. I remember when a reader asked (probably in the Answer Man column) if Lois Lane and Margo Lane were related. The response was, if they were, then their common ancestor was Lazarus Lane -- El Diablo from Weird Western Tales.

I suspect that Perry Mason's secretary Della Street was also a distant cousin.

    1. But, she was more closely related to the Doom Patrol's Danny Street.

    1. He might have administered the poison under telepathic hypnosis by Shiwan Khan. But, I'm betting it was provided by the Ultra-Humanite in return for having been given a captive Yeti for a certain brain transplant!

  5. Who’s Margot Lane?

    1. She was the semi-romantic interest of Lamont Cranston (nee Kent Allard) alias The Shadow. The polite term back in the 1930's was, of course, paramour! Sort of a cross between live-in girlfriend and common-law spouse.

  6. As for my own wild guess? Under the parameters of the hint you've given, I'll say...the Sinister Six vs. the Inferior Five!

  7. In one of his books (either Tarzan Alive or Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life), Philip Jose Farmer also suggested family ties between Lois and Margo

  8. The Great Lakes Avengers and the Inferior Five?

Nah... though I'd certainly pay $0.60 to read that story, especially if we get to see White Feather and Captain Ultra do some synchronized fainting.

    1. They'd probably tie for the Fool's Gold Medal in that event. ;-)
