Between all of the time travel shenanigans, multiversal adventures and company-wide reboots, I'm not quite sure what the back story of the new Wally West is. I'm glad they kept his costume so close to the original red & yellow version, one of the best designs in comics.

I believe the currently accepted back story, within the mainstream comics, is that he's Wallace Daniel West ("Ace" to his friends). Namesake cousin of ginger-haired Wallace Rudolph West ("Wally" to his friends). As for how David "Chronos" Clinton went from high-tech villain obsessed with timing to time traveler? That, I don't know. Maybe he studied under the Time Master (one-time enemy of the Silver Age Wonder Woman).
ReplyDelete@Anon832: "One-time enemy"? Ouch! No cookies for that pun.
Delete@Ross: I thought Chronos-Clinton was an enemy of the Ray Palmer Atom. Why would he be siding with a member of the Flash family, even as part of some weird bet with the Grandmaster (who's more usually into chess)?
I've seen speculation that the "Time Master" was another name for the Legion villain "Time Trapper".
DeleteEither that or they bonded over their mutual love of hooded purple robes.
DeleteThey bonded over their taste in cool high collared yellow capes.
ReplyDeleteWell, as this is Earth-STF, I suppose that makes sense.*
Delete*Sort of!
Is it me or does Grandmaster look like an offshoot of Guardians of the Universe?

Dear Namesake@11:19AM: maybe he's the sole survivor of the race that were ancestral to the blue-skinned Kree.
ReplyDeleteNice pairing. Well done. How about a Sub-Mariner vs Hellboy at some point…?
ReplyDelete: all the different Flashes still weren't as fast as Burried Alien. :)
ReplyDeleteNow known as Fastforward.
