Jimmy Olsen and Professor X

I'm looking forward to seeing Patrick Stewart as Professor X one more time in Avengers: Doomsday.  I just hope he doesn't die in the movie, though.  We've already seen Professor X killed off in X:Men 3, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Logan and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The poor guy can't get a break - only Thomas and Martha Wayne have had more on-screen deaths!

  1. "Gingerebro" (lol)! I love it!!!

As for Xavier's vicious cycle of death and rebirth-by-proxy? Maybe it's some warped version of the karmic mojo that Bucky Barnes was retroactively endowed with. That is; coming back from the dead--and staying alive--when his death was once considered immutable (like the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne over @ DC).

  2. I'm with Cary with Gingerebro.
But what's afoot here? My guess is that it is the beginnings of yet another STF team, with redheads from across the reaches of the vast and varied STF verse brought together - to form...the Ginger Zingers!

    1. Don't we already have Code Red?

    2. Daviticus-- Code Red is all ladies. So the boys need their own team. Archie Andrews, Rorschach and Ron Weasley immediately spring to mind

  3. I love these quirky team-ups most people would have never thought of. And this one is hilarious. I especially love the straight-faced, silver-age seriousness style- it makes it so much funnier. I can't help thinking this story somehow ties into the classic Sherlock Holmes story, The Red-Headed League...

  4. Have you thought about having Prof X "stand in" for the leader of the Doom Patrol?

  5. Sir Patrick arguably holds the record for most onscreen deaths for a character played by the same actor. At least the Waynes and even Ben Parker have changed actors each time.

But in this case, my attention is drawn to the Professor's transport. Holy cats! Is that meant for snow travel, or something? As the co-author of a tome called The Ultimate Vehicle, I regret not seeing this while I was writing that manuscript!

    1. "Sir Patrick arguably holds the record for most onscreen deaths for a character played by the same actor." What about Christopher Lee as Dracula?

    2. @Bob Greenwade: looks like the mini-tank that was driven by the Squadron Supreme's Ape X (Marvel analog of DC's M'sieur Mallah).

    3. @Anonymous: I always thought Ape X was more of a bizarre Grodd analog. M'sieur Mallah would have been an odd choice for a member of a group of villains who were specifically analogs of Justice League foes.

    4. Yeah, but Ape X had an unrequited thing for the Squadron's Tom Thumb. And Mallah had a thing for the Brotherhood's Brain! See the symmetry? Grodd, on the other hand, always struck me as just one big furry narcissist.

  6. Olsen is a Doom magnet! Look at all the people in his orbit! He should hang with Ben Grim &Scott Summers!

  7. In the sequel, Jimmy must prevent Thanos from erasing every redhead from existence with... The Ginger Snap!
