With this adventure, Barda has finally completed her new team. I did see at least one correct guess in the comments, congratulations! Regular visitors will remember that she recruited Xena in STF #5011, Hellcat in STF #4964 and Red Sonja in STF #4881. Now all that remains is for the New Furies to assemble together.

And the other question...who is worth their wrath??
ReplyDeleteOops! Misjudged my trajectory.
DeleteEither that, or you need specs, dude. :-(
DeleteWhere does thus Dart come from? I only know the one from Savage Dragon...
ReplyDeleteAnd Atari Force was a comic book that came free with classic Atari video games like Phoenix, Defender, and Galaxian.
DeleteCredit for the wildly correct guess goes to Anon9AM @ New Year's Day. A-lass! Starfire of Lightning League is relegated back to Suggestion Limbo, again. :-(
ReplyDeleteOn the upside, who better than a video game heroine to help hunt down big game like the Blip? ;-)
Dart was a member of Atari Force
ReplyDelete@Giullio: And Atari Force was a comic book that came free with now-classic Atari video games like Phoenix, Defender, and Galaxian.
DeleteAtari force meets sonic the hedgehog or mortal kombat or mario and luigi
ReplyDeleteOr Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinity 2!
DeleteSpace Ghost's monkey has apparently seen better days.
ReplyDeleteOh, different Blip.
OK, here's a Politically Incorrect question...
ReplyDeleteIf these are the "Female Furies," who would be the "Male Furies"? Would that group start with the likes of Wiccan, Northstar, Soldier Boy, and the Golden Age Green Lantern?
I don't think Granny Goodness thought that one out when creating the original Furies.
DeleteIn the original Greek myths ALL furies were female, because women were supposed to be... well, furious, mean, and, well, you get the idea. Old style misogyny. There were no male versions in Greek or Roman mythology that I can discover. But if you want male versions, seems to be you'd pretty well have to start with the Hulk if you wanted to be literal about the root traits furies had; namely, their anger and desire for revenge. Though the Furies that are collected here don't really fit that original concept quite as well anyway. Just as well or they'd mostly be villainesses by today's standards.
DeleteI was right! ;) DART!
ReplyDeleteAtari Force was published by DC. Doesn't this violate the STF rule about not pairing characters from the same company?
ReplyDeleteBut Barda _is_ recruiting for a bigger team... and the Blip is Marvel, so... ok.
DC published it but it was a licensed product for Atari, even the regular comics series that continued from the promo minicomics. It doesn't exist in the regular DC continuity. I don't even think it was wiped out in the Crisis. So there's a decent loophole to allow her in.
DeleteCouldn't have said it better, myself. Although, I certainly tried! :-)
