Metal Men and The Angel
I thought for this cover, I would share where the character images came from. As you can see, there was a bit of patchwork and rearranging required to get to the cover scene that I had envisioned.
We haven't seen the Metal Men teaming up with the Transformers since #906, back in 2014. A lot's happened in the real world since then... I know you tend to lean toward fun escapist adventures, Ross, but I'd really be blessed if you could bring these two groups together once more to deal with the marginalization of synthetic beings. Many people these days still regard them as a threat, or a "mere tool," even if they were as sophisticated as those groups (or the members of Robo-Force).
Or, failing that, how about Robo-Force Mark II and Ace the Bat-hound and his Dogs of War teaming up against someone/something? K-9 is a member of both groups, after all!
to Bob's point, i remember when the mutants were at that starting point in the 1960s. Now, A.I. càn you a bit of an assist. Oh, could Angel help Ralph learn to fly??
Agreed. But, who would provide the live-action image capture of Angel? Ben Foster (who played young adult Warren Worthington III in X-MEN: LAST STAND)? Or Cayden Boyd who played Warren as a younger child in the flashback scene (but who'd now be full-grown in the present day).
Side question: what if the Sentinels took on Chemo? I mean, the island of Krakoa's classified as a mutant. And so is the non-corporeal reality warper called Proteus. So why not a semi-sentient liquid-based life form who technically brought an entire anthropomorphic plastic vat to life?
Whoa! Flawless; absolutely flawless.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you have in store for Sal Buscema! :-)
Wow… very cool team-up.
ReplyDeleteDarn! I was hoping for Paul Gustavon's Angel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_(Thomas_Halloway)
ReplyDeleteUmmmmm... do I even wanna know what Mercury is doing on that poor Sentinel's head...?
ReplyDeleteI always kind of liked The Metal Men. Silver Age silliness at its finest.

ReplyDeleteWhich Ralph; Dibney or Hinkley?
DeleteHinkley has the needs!

DeleteOh wow...do you still make these in Paint? Awesome either way, and even MORE impressive if that's still your tool of choice...!
ReplyDeleteNo, I use Photoshop now.
DeleteAh! Well...as noted..still cool af!
