Kingpin Vs. Bane
Wilson Fisk isn't physically intimidated by too many people, but this match up would be one that I would guess would give him pause. Who wins in this battle for control of the city's underworld?
All Kingpin has to do is disconnect all those hoses feeding Bane that super-steroid (called "Venom") and it's Fisk for the win. Which reminds me...any chance of a sequel to STF #3274?
People disconnecting those hoses became too predictable, so Bane (who's pretty tough even without Venom anyway) practiced fighting without it too just in case. That's actually DC canon.
{Instantly imagines Jimmy Olsen as center of amorous tug-of-war between Shulkie and Supergirl's sister a la The Brave & The Bold v. 1/#78 from 1968.} Yes, please!!!!! :-D
Gotta give this one to Kingpin. Wilson Fisk survives and THRIVES in world of mutants and metahumans. While Bane loses to Superman, Kryptonians normally don't drop in on him so he's used to being the stronger fighter. Bane has one shot to take Fisk out and then Fisk comes after him. Bane is likely to dismiss Fisk as an 'ordinary' man. Fisk won't underestimate Bane.
Good point! The Kingpin prides himself on being a long-range schemer. So, he's probably going to get (reluctantly) saved by the Punisher purely by "ironic coincidence".

DeleteIn Batman Beyond Bane became dependent on “Venom”.
DeleteSo, what's currently DC canon remains so only till the next writer with ambitious story ideas comes along.
Delete"Can you say 'Bucky Barnes staying dead after WWII' ?"
DeleteCary, do you really think I can remember who was on a cover just by the issue number? Just tell me who was on it.
ReplyDelete*Sigh!* Venom vs. Bane.
DeleteSome people are becoming too dependent on blue-highlighted links, as well.
Ant-Man & Wasp jam Bane's hoses and he is done. small details make a difference. Ross, Jimmy and Carol Danvers and She-Hulk for Valentine's day??

DeleteCary, no plans yet but maybe
ReplyDeleteWho wins? There's a reason he's called "King"pin.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, maybe (during his next appearance, here) he can team up with both Doomsday _and_ Mangog _against_ Mr. Universe!
