Rumors are that The Hulk will finally return to his savage form when he appears in the next Spider-Man movie. I'm not sure what the story reason would be, but I hope that it's true. Not only has Professor Hulk, (who to me just seems like green Mark Ruffalo) worn out his welcome, but now the stage can at last be set for a big screen Thing/Hulk fight!

That's assuming several factors, Ross. Would it be a side-effect of some mind-control gimmick like the Corruptor's biochemical touch? And would this result in Spidey teaming up with the new Avengers (aka Thunderbolts) in order to end Old Jade-jaws' rampage? That might be fitting, considering the Easter egg from the end credits of the T-BOLTS movie. But, first, we'd have to see how the FF wound up in the mainstream MCU in the first place. Was it Dr. Doom's fault? Did he open up some kind of interdimensional teleportal (trying to communicate with his dead mother) that couldn't be closed?
ReplyDeleteAllowing Galactus to come back in?
Obviously, it's a case of "wait-and-see."
Hey! There's an idea for STF #5000. An eat-off between Galactus and Scrappy Doo!
ReplyDeleteAs for today's cover? I think the flashback as to how Wildcat and Gen. Ross became friends would be more interesting than the main story. For instance; did Ross earn the name "Thunderbolt" as the collegiate boxing champ of West Point? And that's assuming he's one of those first-gen officers who predate the USAF by three months (making them Class of 1947).
DeleteJust as in the comics, Smart Hulk has had his time in the MCU, and it's time to bring back Savage Hulk -- and, possibly, some of Banner's other alts, such as the Maestro and Joe Fixit. I'm also interested in seeing what story elements lead to the return of the Savage Hulk, and whether Banner regains his normal human size.
ReplyDelete@Cary: There's a credible theory going around that the ship seen in the Thunderbolts*/New Avengers post-credits scene does not belong to the "First Steps" team, but rather to the 2005 team. This is based on the differences in the ship's appearance from what's seen in "First Steps," specifically the number of tailfins. Working against that theory, of course, is the fact that none of the 2005 case (except for Chris Evans) has been reported as cast.
@Bob: Given the amount of collateral property damage caused by the First Steppers' battle with Galactus, I'm willing to believe that that's a brand-new spaceship that Reed designed and oversaw the construction of.
DeleteI just saw both movies on Pay-per-view On Demand. The ship in the end credits of "Thunderbolts" looks a lot more like a modified version of the spaceship from "First Steps" (as opposed to one that might've been the brainchild of Ioan Gruffud's Reed Richards).
DeleteAh, just put Hulk's mind in Banner's body and see what he does then!! Ditko is Back!!
ReplyDeleteOr put Super Gorilla Grodd's mind in Hulk's body as the result of a Flashpoint Incursion!
Delete"The Worst of Both Worlds."
I mean, that misanthropic anthropoid is long overdue for his own feature-film debut, as well!
