Nightwing and Puck

Nightwing previously faced off against The Ringmaster with The Roustabouts in STF #2410, and with Nightcrawler way back in STF #68...

  1. So, let me guess this straight. Nightwing was under the Ringmaster's hypnotic control the first two times. Once, alongside Nightcrawler; then, alongside the rest of the Roustabouts. But, now, he and Puck are joining, voluntarily?! I don't buy it.

I think it more likely that Nightwing is still under his control and has used him as bait to entrap Puck. Part of a scheme to collect and nullatronically hypnotize as many superheroes as possible (to enhance the ranks of his law-breaking troupe)!

But, even if I'm wrong, it's nice to see Princess Python making a second appearance, here. :-)

  2. I love this Big Top blast! For me, only the Enforcers come close to matching the Circus of Crime for gritty street-level mayhem.

  3. I can't add anything to what Bob and Anon719 have said. So, I'll just make a request. How about Johnny Thunderbolt (post-New 52 version of the Golden Age Johnny Thunder) vs. Zzzax?

    1. Nah! That's Maynard "the Ringmaster" Tiboldt, himself. Most likely a miscoloration by the original cover's artist.

  6. All right! With the Roustabouts, Puck would fit right in. The membership could be flexible, like the Defenders, but with a sideshow theme in stories and villains. With a healthy dose of occult and mystical adventures mixed in.

    1. Why not? If K-9 (of Dr. Who fame) can split his time between Ace's Dogs of War and Robo Force 2.0, Puck should be able to similarly alternate between Alpha Flight and the Roustabouts.
