DeleteFor those too young to remember? She was introduced as Capt. Nemo's daughter in LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN (vol. 3/#1), loosely based on the character mentioned in the (Bobby Darin version of the) song "Mack The Knife."
ReplyDeleteI've imaged a WW2 crossover with a Golden Age style Teen Titans with Bucky, Toro, Captain Marvel Jr., Mary Marvel, Robin, Jimmy Olsen, Speedy, Sparky, Sandy (the Golden Boy), Buddy Smith, Pinky the Whiz Kid, and you could arguably throw in Wonder Girl. Star Spangled Kid could be a part of it, with Stripesy being their bodyguard, effectively giving them adult supervision.
ReplyDeleteThrow in any of the dozens of kid sidekicks in the background with the main ones up front. Etta Candy would try to join claiming she was 16 but get rejected. I think Owl Girl would push her way to the front demanding not to ignored.
It does have its roots in history. With Dad off to war fighting, and Mom working in the factory making bombs, who was there to look after the kids? The ones with the keys to the car. This is why mom was sent back to the and the fear of juvenile delinquents started after the war,
