Batman & The Outsiders and Guardians of the Galaxy (And more!)

Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 has released its full trailer, and I am glad that they fill it with cool shots and character moments, but do not give the whole plot away.  Even so, I am trying to remain very disciplined - I only watched the trailer once, and on a tiny little screen.  I know for sure that I will be seeing the film in the theater and I don't want to spoil too much for myself the way I have for far too many other movies.  I hear that audience preview scores have been through the roof, so I am expecting another fun night at the movies.

Batman crossed Paths with The Guardians once before, back in my B&B days...

  1. When will this be available in the shops?

  2. Ooh, ooh, I so want to read this cosmic powered issue! How about giving us at least the first page (or last) of each of these stories?

Oh, if only... I do really want to read this.

When I saw the Frog-Man/LSH panel my first thought was that this wouldn't work because of his powers relying on external technology... but then I realised that with the LSH founders in those costumes this would be happening before that rule was introduced...

  4. @Simreeve: Well, they *are* rejecting Frog-Man, so it really doesn't matter if it's because he's using external tech or not. :)

(But Frog-Man would have been perfect for one of those old "Legion Try-Out" stories where'd they'd introduce utterly ridiculous characters for the Legion to hilariously reject...)

  5. When does Tippy-Toe join the Legion of Super-Pets ? (hopefully after Squirrel Girl gets rejected for the LSH)

And any particular reason you went with "one of the other versions" of the Guardians, Cap. Marv, and GL?

  6. No special reason other than that I like all of those characters.

  7. Speaking of the Guardians of the Galaxy, what if Groot and Rocket Raccoon meet Medphyll and Ch'p?

  8. There is a Rocket/Ch'p cover on here at least.

  9. What else can I say except...

    OUT OF THIS WORLD! :-D

I would especially love to read how the Inhumans handled Silver Age Brainiac. As to the trailer for the movie? I have no hope that it will be re-enacted, 100% faithfully, in the final draft. Because it's my painful experience that the studios always cut out _something_ that attracted me to the movie in the first place!

*Case in point: the Detroit informant who tells Eddie Murphy (in the original previews for BEVERLY HILLS COP) that BH is a different world? Left on the cutting room floor.

  10. Awesome! Thanks for having the original GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY as they were always a favorite of mine. I would love to see them team-up with the FREEDOM FIGHTERS some day.

  11. Great anniversary issue! If available, what's the cover price?! I'm glad to see John Stewart matched with Silver Surfer, and the classic Aparo Batman/Outsiders, but LSH and Frog Man is great! He's just so out of place among the futuristic superhero uniforms of the LSH! Also the Brainiac/Inhumans encounter would be interesting.
This seems in line with the old 100 pagers, about 5 stories and a few special features to round it out. Good selections of teams and stories, I'd gladly pay the 50 or 60 cents for it!

  12. Superb as always, Ross! But, you know who I'd like to see in #1900? Femforce, Justice Machine, the League of Champions _and_ the Malibu Protectors teaming up with the JLA vs. Thanos and Lady Death!*

*Malibu and its revamped Centaur characters are currently owned by Marvel. So using them against the Darkseid of Titan would be feasible in real life.

  13. P.S.---failing that, I'd settle for Rocket meeting Chp's predecessor.

    "I...am...Rrrrr't!"

  17. Thank you so much for featuring the ORIGINAL Guardians instead of that weak and wack 2nd team. Starhawk has always been one of my favorite Marvel characters!
