Darkseid Vs. Thanos in "Fatal Flaw!"

With Justice League set to begin filming early next year, we will hopefully finally get a more solid idea of who the main villain of the film will be.  Will DC go ahead and use Darkseid, who was the first foe that the current incarnation of the JLA faced - or will they deem him too close to Thanos?  Will the rumors of Brainiac turn out to be true, or is he being saved for a future solo Superman outing?  Or will they surprise us with an out of left field selection like Starro?

Darkseid and Thanos have crossed paths once before on the blog.

I still believe that Justice League should be an adaptation of the Liberty and Justice graphic novel by Paul Dini and Alex Ross.

Starro! Yes Starro!

I also vote Starro. Felix Faust might also be a good choice for the JLA's first outing.

Re: this cover -- If I understand Thanos' character rightly (and I'm not 100% sure that I do), his most likely response to Darkseid's comment would be: "That's the point!"

And if these two ever meet again, it might be a good excuse to (finally!) bring in Access, who (for reasons to be detailed in the body of the story) has a mysterious need for help from Thanoseid.

No to Starro...just look at what hollywood did to similar "huge galactic" villains Galactus and Parallax.

Starro or Despero would be my picks, as both are sufficiently different from Thanos and appropriate for a first JLA movie historically and pragmatically. Neither requires a heavy back story to interfere with the new heroes working out their interpersonal dynamics, and both have powers that could even accentuate them by forcing the heroes to infight.

I'd like to see a JLA vs Crime Syndicate movie but that'd be better off as a sequel.

JLA vs Crime Syndicate would be a great sequel... especially if it also features Alex Luthor, the Jokester, and other members of the Justice Underground! :D

I vote for Starro. Anybody who's ever gotten a perverse thrill out of the xenomorphic face huggers (from the "Aliens" franchise) should absoutely _love_ a bunch of CGI starfish enveloping the heads of some of the DCU's mightiest superheroes!

P.S.---@Joshua: DC, itself, did far worse to Galactus in the modern Superman comics. Can you say "Devouris the Conqueror?"

P.S.--- @Bob Greenwade: I'd like to think that Access is trying to keep both of them from discovering the Anti-Life Equation's true resting place.

Riverdale!

I hope it's Darkseid, only to show movie fans the inspiration for Thanos!! I'm sure Marvel decided to use Thanos as a way to piss off DC...
