Swamp Thing and Daredevil

Charlie Cox has been named as the new Daredevil for the upcoming Netflix series.  I must confess that I am not familiar with this actor, so I don't know what to make of this development.  Apparently he has made an impression from his performance on Boardwalk Empire, a show I have yet to sample.  He looks like he could make for a convincing Matt Murdock at least. Marvel's casting decisions have been pretty smart so far, and I am going to trust them on this one.

That's an interesting team up, it never would have occurred to me. About Boardwalk Empire I can say that it is a very well produced show, the look of Atlantic City during the roaring 20's is perfect. The acting on the show is also superb, a very good cast playing some interesting characters. Having said that, it's kinda boring. It takes a long time for some of the story arcs to reach fruition and it often puts me to sleep. Not like Game of Thrones where something amazing happens every episode, but if you love the period of the 20's it does that very well.

Charlie Cox' name was familiar but I had to look it up. He's done mostly British television, but the one thing I must have remembered him from was "Stardust", based on the Gaiman/Vess mini-series. I saw it in the theater but don't remember if I ever got the DVD. If anyone did, are there any hints in the commentaries about how Cox would approach an action hero?

Aargh! I just realized that the Daredevil figure you used is from a Vess cover! Was that a conscious acknowledgement of the new Daredevil's only prior 'comics movie' credit, or just a bizarre coincidence?

Yeah, I can see DD and Swamp Thing teaming up, together! Maybe the evil voodoo priestess called Mambo teams up with Pamela Isley to create some phyto-genetic clone of a long-lost loved one. And, that entails stealing...the Alec Holland Papers!
