Batman Beyond and Spider-Man 2099

As crazy as some of the match ups on this blog are, I do try to maintain some kind of internal continuity.  This cover is actually a sequel to one of my lost Brave and the Bold covers, which I posted way back on October 3, 2011.  That issue had Spider-Man 2099 warning the present day Batman of a corrupt Terry McGinnis.  For some reason, that set up always rattled around in my head and I wanted to make a follow-up.

Isn't Spider-Man 2099 already in the 21st century? We are in the 21st century now in 2013.

He's in the 22nd century.

Cool stuff.
I always held out hope for a crossover between Batman Beyond and Spider-Girl, as the immediate successors to their "fathers'" mantles.

@Ross: 22nd century? The 21st century started in 2001 and ends in 2100. Are you saying that Spider-Man 2099 takes place later than 2099?

Of course, his career lasted more than a year... He may have started in the last year of the 21st century, but he's definitely a 22nd century hero in my mind.

Cool match up and even cooler that it's a sequel, but now I want to read these stories.

Would buy this for damn sure! Love me some Batman Beyond, tho' I never read any of the 2099 line. I have enough of a slough getting through the mainstream Marvel universe. :)

The thing is, While Spider-man 2099 takes place 86 years from now, Batman Beyond only takes place fifty years in the future. By 2099 Bruce Wayne would be dead, and Terry would be operating solo. But I do think this would make an interesting concept.

@Unknown 749: sadly, that's increasingly unlikely. :-(
